    Default Merkin advice please!

    I've posted this as a new thread, as I had popped this on the end of my last thread about the pasties but got no reply, as i presume I'm sure folk thought I was still whittering on about pasties!-Hope thats alright??

    Now I want to make a tear drop merkin to go with some pasties I have freshly put together, and would again like your advice ladies...
    1- Can I make it from the same leathette material which I made the pasties from, does it need a more flexible fabric to attach more closely to the body underneeth the main merkin?

    2- To create a teardrop shape should I;

    A, create a drop shape but taper it in to cover me bits, and then attach a line of beaded trim at the widest part to assume the teardrop shape, or

    B, make the merkin in 2 parts, one part being the large teardrop shape, and then attach a 'modesty' pannel which would be attached to the lower /mid drop shape so the the teardrop shape is not altered and covers the area, but the 'modesty' pannel covers anything exposed by movement,

    3, or is it best to use a bought C-string and use that as the base to build up from?

    4, After reading a previous threat about the virtues of using bees wax to stick gems to stuff, I managed to pic some up at my local farmers market, can this be used on pasties/merkins or its it best to stick with the super glue/PVA combo as previously discussed?

    Thank-you so much ladies!!!

    Hi there, as it's your first one I'd go for the ready bought C string as a base and build your add on design from there - I don't know about beeswax to affix but I'm a big fan of Gem Tac! Then when finished & ready to wear use some tit tape to help keep everything in the right place.
    Good luck, Mimi x

    Hi, I make mine like a big pastie, using fake leather. The basic shape is similar to these lovely items (just using the pics to demonstrate the shape - they aren't mine!) Dolly De Lash - Gallery and to get the teardrop effect, fold the bits at the bottom across (like the overlap on a pastie).
    I decorate mine with fabric, beads, rhinestones etc and I use Anita's Tacky PVA. I attach them to myself with toupee tape. There is an example of mine here Facebook

    Have fun!
