    Default New fascinator enterprise...

Hello all, I'm appealing for some help in starting up a fascinator business. I've been making fascinators for a hobby for some time and now feel that a) I'd like to make some money out of it and b) I'm drowning in the things so I should try to get rid of them. I'll be posting some photos on my profile and have a business page on facebook, other than getting my own website and promoting myself on twitter, can anyone give me any advice on other stuff to do? Also, if anyone wants a handmade fascinator, please let me know.

    Many thanks!

I'll help you. I am retired and worked in fancy dress and costume for years but not professionally trained - only o'level needlework in the 60s! I have made simple fascinators really connected with animal heads and fruit only but if I can be of assistance I will. I had my own business and supplied costumes made by us for shows, film and tv.

I have fabric, industrial machines and patterns and my daughter does burlesque and wants me to do more in that area of costume.

I need help in altering and making basques/bodices and making bustles and making feather fans. I live in Preston, Lancs but my children live in North Londonand High Wycombe and I can pop down and meet up with you and see your work and you can see if my stuff is of any good if you like.

If not, keep up the good work - not many folk make things these days which is why I semi retired.

Wow Maggi, you may end up being my fascinator guru...

I'm entirely self-taught, so i'm probably not up to your standard but I'd love it if you could take a look at my stuff and see what you think. I live in East London, which is a bit of a schelp from North London, but my Mother in law lives in Marlow, not far from High Wycombe. It would be great to meet up and talk about fascinating matters, maybe sometime after xmas? If you want to have a look at some of the stuff I've made, I've got a facebook page, search for Kate's Fascinators so please have a look and see what you think.

Thanks for getting in touch, I really appreciate it xx
