In need of help with a panel skirt
Greetings all!
As a newbie of the burlesque world, I'm beginning work on one of two costumes I have planned for routines, so I'll probably be calling on you guys a lot.
Anyway, the thing I help with at this moment is a vintage panel skirt, as seen in this performance by Perle Noire (start at :57, but I'd watch the whole thing. She's a great performer) Perle Noire's Tribute to Diane Naegel at the 2011 New York Burlesque Festival - YouTube
I found a tutorial for a belly dance panel skirt: Tutorial: Super Simple Belly Dance Skirt Fits Any Size. It looks like it might work, but you guys could provide any tutorials or general help, I'd greatly appreciate it.
Please and thank you.WARNINGWarning: This is an Old Thread

Hello, do you need it to come apart like hers does or is it going to be fixed? If it's fixed the tutorial you posted looks ok as it's fairly basic, I make belly dance costumes (am midway through a similar skirt now) and there are quite a few variations you can make on that for more detail etc, I usually use a really flimsy sheer fabric and over lock the edges rather than hemming as I prefer to keep it as light as possible. I also usually use an elasticated waist band so you can lower or raise it as you like. Feel free to PM me if you want to ask anything. Mxxx
