    Default Comfy heels

An oxymoron for a title I'm sure, but Beatrix' recent post has reminded me of something I was thinking about today.

I have a new pair of heels, not overly high, perhaps 2.5 inches. Wear them around the shops for a few hours and my feet hurt! Hardly surprising obviously, but I'm guessing different styles and makes of shoe have different comfort levels and I can't take it upon myself to try them all! SO Ladies what is the most comfortable pair of heels you own that still look feminine?

Does a platformed really make all the difference? Is there a particular brand that has a lovely cushioned sole area? Now summer is approaching I'm determined to spend more time in heels but don't fancy the pain that goes with it

The most comfortable pair of shoes I own are a pair of purple velvet sandals with gold trim - they're so pretty too! They've got a stiletto heel around the four or five inch mark and a half inch platform, and are t-bar with an ankle strap, wich helps in terms of stability. I think the thing that makes them so comfortable is the padding where the ball of the feet go, which is so often missing from heels. They're made by Bronx, who make lots of very pretty and comfy shoes, and I bought them in Dolcis in the high street, so maybe check them out ^_^

I wear 3" heels to work every day and stand for most of the day. I have a lovely pair from next with a cute bow on the side & they are from the Sole Revivers section They're not on the site any more but there are some nice new ones

My most comfortable shoes are some peep-toes I got from New Look and a pair of strappy sandals from Dolcis. One thing that might help is gradually working your way up in heel height and also try wedges - they tend to be much more comfortable than stilettos.

I agree, I find Wedges much more comfy than stilletoes, especially on a day to day basis.

My most comfy heels are my white peep toe heels that have a gold rim that I found in a second hand shop in Poland for about 60p

I would have to agree that wedges are probably one of the most comfy style of shoe you can wear. I think the question of comfort is all about the quality of the shoe and of course good quality shoes cost but in my opinion are well worth it.There are some real cheapie stilettos around on the market at the moment but made from stiff pu imitation leather and no padding around the ball of the foot they are so uncomfortable!!!

It does follow that wedges would be more comfortable as there is more shoe on the floor so it spreads your weight and there is less pressure on the heel

I used to have a fab pair of wedges from Next that I wore to school but they are worn out now...

I hate it when that happens, you have a lovely pair of heels and you wear them everywhere, they become dear friends....then they wear out!!

It definately pays off to gradually increase the height of heel you wear and get used to going higher and higher gradually!

Kurt Geiger - expensive i know - do the most amazingly high wedges, and you get what you pay for by investing in more expensive brands because i have found they are more comfortable.
