    Default Axfords

Has anyone ever used Axfords? I have just fallen in love with them. Sorry if I'm depleting your piggybank again, but are these not just the most gorgeous..................?

Lovely old English corset makers, rank highly amongst favourites such as Vollers and Snobz (price wise too!)

Good fit and long lasting I've found.

Do they still come up really big? I bought two 28" corsets about six or seven years ago and they close at 4" bigger than their labelled size.

Oh dear, I am still waiting delivery. Might need your specs if I have to go and see them. Don't know if I can replicate 'The Look' though.

Never found that myself? Might be an idea contacting Axfords directly about this or just Ebaying them and buying from somewhere else.

As I said, I got them 6 or 7 years ago. It took me a while to realise that they measured a lot bigger than they should. They do look great and they're very solid, but they run big. And I did buy them direct, I hadn't discovered eBay at that point.

Aah I understand. I bought a lovely red underbust one from Ebay a while ago and it ended up being 4 inches too bit but I wasn't sure if that was a design fault or wear and tear as it was a vintage item.

thats because when you size yourself up for a corset you are supposed to give 4 inches less than your natural waist size as thats how much they are designed to take you in-ya see?? lol they actually tell you that when you order-or they should have!

If you're supposed to order corsets labelled your natural waist size to get them 4" smaller then a 32" corset should measure 28" not vice versa.

I order a corset form axford and they sent me one, which was an inch smaller than the actual label. I had to exchange it to the next size up, but they were very nice and very quick about it and the corset is lovely. The only down side was the retune was sold on ebay for half the price I paid.
