Default Quest for THE dress - help!

No I'm not getting married (have already been for nearly 6 years now :-)) No I have a fab gig in September. The Rubber Ball at SE1! Not only that, I have a live band, that includes a fab saxophonist friend of mine Mr Mark Ramsden. There's also 3 burly dancers, although I haven't got to find out who yet. Its a 40's/rat pack theme at a fetish event, what could be better?

Here comes the quest though. I have to find THE perfect dress/outfit as this is a big dress up event full of photographers and everyone vying for their attention, I at least want to stand out a little. As I said we've been told the theme is 40's/rat pack (confusing as rat pack were 50's?) and I'd love a glorious vintage gown, but what with the event being the Rubber Ball many people there will be in rubber so I may have to send begging mails to a few fetish designer contacts to see if they have anything suitable I could borrow, or just something 40/50's styled but slightly outlandish. Ooh I don't know

Found a couple of really pretty 50's evening dresses on ebay (where else do you start such a quest?) but sadly my waist is apparently bigger than the average then.

Can anyone help me hunt? Or even better does someone have something I could borrow? Or a contact who would? As I said you'll get lovely photos (with credit on my site), publicity when people undoubtedly ask where my gorgeous outfit is from, and I'll hopefully be videoing the performances for showreel too.

I'd love to do as some do for the event which is spend 100's on a one off outfit, but I just don't have the money!

Measurements are; hips 40, waist 30 (before any shaping assistance) bust 38 (obviously depends if dress takes a bra underneath. I don't suit pale colours, anything a little richer/jewel-like would be fab

    Help me! -x-

I like a couple of the the atsuko kudo designs, but far out of my price range if I can't borrow one. I fear I may have a few too many lumps and bumps for latex

Have you looked at the online store at Marquis - The Fetish Fantasy Magazine

They might cost a little more than you want - but if you want a dress that makes you look stunning, and that no-one else is wearing (and I'm sure you'd be able to wear to other fetish events) this site has some stunning latex etc dresses, suits, jackets, burlesque hats etc etc - and not just in black, in brights too

    Cocktail dress Marleen
