Where to buy these things? Recommendations please.
Hi,
I'm looking around for a couple of things, and I was wondering if any of you lovely ladies could give me some help as to where to look for this stuff (other than eBay):
- pasties (I've PMed a girl asking for a custom design, hopefully I'll be lucky!);
- feather boas (not the uber-cheap fake stuff which has like 34857 feather falling off as soon as you touch it);
- long gloves (I'm not sure about "one size fits all" ones either...I have tiny hands and they're usually too big for me
);
- feather fans.
Thanks a lot!! <3WARNINGWarning: This is an Old Thread

Try What Katie Did - for gloves.
Ann Summers do feather boas, that's where I've got mine from & my friend bought a nice pair of diamante embellished gloves from there too, when we went to Scarlet Fever's workshop.
You can also get small feather fans from Ann Summers, but it depends how big you want them. If you want full size ones look at Ostriches online - but they are expensive!

For gloves it depends what you're after. For range of basic small size gloves your best bet would be Claire's accessories as most of their stuff is made for teens, so not kids sizes but not quite adult. For something a little more special vintage clothing fairs such as Frock me will be a good place to go as apparently people had smaller hands then (?).

I love the ostrich feather boas - Find they're much more effective then normal feather style ones. Much fluffier and shimmy a lot more.
Although I did pick up a couple of cheap feathery from pound land and entwine them to make a huge practise boa.
There are instructions in various places on making pasties but you can also pick them up in Ann Summers or E-bay.
Gloves you can get in various places - Claires, Ann Summers Ebay etc what Katie Did - try What Katie Did Opera Gloves - La Magia
As long as they don't look ridiculous I find that having the gloves slightly loose a good thing as they're easier to remove (but i am a complete beginner). Have seen some people really struggle to remove theirs.

Nevtex do lovely feather boas. I bought some years ago & they've lasted really well, although I'm not sure of the current quality as I haven't ordered from them for a while. They do a few different types as well as basic fans x

Hi honey
you can pick up gloves in fancy dress shops or good department stores. Millie Dollar, Beatrix Von Bourbon and Miss Diamond Blush all make fans on here (sorry if I have missed anyone). As for pasties I love Dolly De Lash as they are very well made and twirl really well.
Good luck

I would recommend ostrich.com for your boas as they have a large collection to choose from and they are really good quality too. i would get your fans made by someone on here. I asked Millie Dollar to make me some and they are really pretty. The feathers are nice and full too. You could also have a go at making them yourself...you can get the sets on ostrich.com - I sound like a spokeswoman for them dont I!!!
Pasties are super easy to make. If you but the MOB dvd Ruby Rouge will show you how to make them.
For gloves I totally agree with everyone else...You should try What Katie Did first. Hope you get all the items you need. xx
