MakeUp Tips?
Hello!
As some of you may have noticed i've very little in the way of photos on here......mostly because i can't get decent photos!
My main problem is that my makeup never shows up! I was wondering if anyone out there had tips on applying my makeup so that i have the impact required for photographs but not so that i look like a clown.
Thanks

Put on so much that you look like a clown!
Seriously, just put on more that you think you need to. As you say, your normal make up isn't showing up, so excessive make up won't show as excessive.
Here's a tip - put on your normal make up and take a quick digital snap. Look to see where you need to apply more and apply a little more. Take another snap and see if that shows up any better. If it doesn't, apply a little more. Just keep snapping away until your make up shows up to the extent you want it to. You may look overdone in real life, but on camera it'll be fabulous, and isn't that all that really matters? ;-)

Yep - look like a drag queen then add some more. Pretty identical advice to Fleur tbh.
Put on powder eyeshadows with a damp brush. Make sure you emphasise your eyebrows too. And at least double up on your normal blusher.
The only area where you don't go overboard is on concealing spots. It's so much easier to photoshop a spot then it is a dried mound of concealer.

I totally agree - I got some photos done ages ago and din't do my eyebrows, then I had a photoshoot with a proper make-up artist and I couldn't believe how much better it looked with my eyebrows done!
Have a look at some photos of models whose make-up you like the look of and try and get that look on yourself, then tweak it a bit to make it your own

YES YES! These ladies are right

I just did my first ever "pin up" photo shoot today and had some help with my hair and make up. Once i had finished with my make up i looked in the mirror and thoguht "oh gosh! thats rather over the top and dramatic!!!"
But when i saw some small photos of my self on the photographers camera it didnt look "dramatic" it balanced out rather nicely.

Hello! I’m a photographer and I completely agree. Taking a few snaps of yourself to get an idea of how your make-up photographs is a great approach. I always end up applying more and more make-up to my models in order to make it show up in the image. Even then I often add to the eye make-up, lengthen eyelashes and saturate the lips in Photoshop in order to achieve a more dramatic image.
Hope that helped!

You could always invest in theatre make-up?
goes on like a charm! Extra everything!
Double the line on where you would normally apply you make-up then double the colour.
Also if the coulors not showing up, just add water.
Instant face paint but last ages and turns it twice as dark.
hope this helps sweetheart xx

I used to dance and seriously, the amount of make up we needed for the stage was RIDCULOUS!!! Think face paint not eye shadow and pan stick on foundation and you get the idea! so just the same advice as everyone else...pile it on like those girls in high school used to!!!
