Pin ups and your views
Hi All,
I was just curious as to what you gals thought about pin ups. I love creating costumes, but they tend to be more theatrical. I wondered if I was to make costumes inspired by famous pin up girls would you burlesque lovelies be interested.?
I have a few ideas wizzing around, one was inspired by 'Cheesecake' but more strawberry cheesecake. The costume would include a giant prop strawberry. The costume I thought a very voluminous ruffled mini skirt, with net underskirt, halterneck bodice, strawberry nippletassles......and a lot more strawberries to boot.
Whats your views.
hugs

This idea reminds me of Honey Lulu's Get Fruity

I'm a big fan of strawberries:

In answer to your question, I used to use cheesecake inspired costumes, but they didn't seem to match my personality as well as other costuming styles. However, I have seen other performers use cheesecake stylings well... Ruby Fortune's Rock n Roll Ruby springs to mind immediately...

I'm going to make the strawberry one and a few others. I'm going to be at corsets and Diamonds on the 30th Aug so if your all around pop along I'd love to meet you all.
Let me know if you all have any ideas you would like making in to reality. I love making costumes and props.
Thanks again girls
