Thread: How do i hold up my hold-ups!!?

Hi there,

I bought some lovely seamed holdups from Agent Provocateur recently but i have found that when i walk around they always fall down! Which is very embarassing in public trying to walk and hold them up!

They fit me perfectly but the sort of sticky bit at the top has gone, does anyone know of some ways to get it back? So they stay up.

I heard along the lines that women used to put hairspray on them? This may be complete nonsesne.

Or is it time to part from them?

Maybe use some boob tape?

In the back of my head I've the niggling feeling that I've heard that there is a way of re-energising the silicone at the top of hold-ups....might have to go and be the research queen on this one because I have the same problem, that slow slip down your leg whilst you try and walk quickly to the nearest alley to hoick 'em up again, resulting in you walking faster and faster like a duck with a tummy bug...been there, done that

My tip....

Don't wear holdups, they're rubbish!!

Get proper stockings and wear suspenders!!!!

I am inclined to agree with Lola however my problem is that I can find plenty of stockists of holdups (have some lovely ones with large lace bands at the top) but as yet I have never been able to find satisfactory stockings for the size of my thighs.

I have a huge collection of stockings that don't fit that I've bought from shops, online, from the UK, from France, from Germany (admittedly I haven't tried America yet and will do soon) but I've never found anything (even trying stockings designed for transvestites) that fit as comfortably a lace-top holdups :cry: you can all start playing your mini-violins now

I'd really like to get some authentic looking stockings with the keyhole at the back for photoshoots but haven't yet found any that properly fit.

Having said that, although it doesn't help with my attempt to get vintage photos right, but I could stop the hold-ups that do fit me falling down by using a garter belt couldn't I? doh, slaps head

I've seen something before that you can spray on the silicone band to make it more sticky...

I know what Lola pops means they arent as good BUT i spent £25 on these hold ups and need to get some wear out of them!!

No! You'll bend the suspender clips and damage them!

To rejuvenate the silicone, I believe washing them with fabric oftener helps ...

ok, what about garters then....?

(but that just makes me think of scouts trying to hold their socks up)
