Default What the #*%! is cold cream?

I was on another website the other day (I think it was the Fedora Store but I'm not sure) and on their beauty and make up pages people kept going on about using cold cream and witch hazel to keep their skin soft and calm. Does anyone here know any more about this? I might just have been being dim but I couldn't find anything that explained how this worked or what skin types it was suitable for. I've got really dry, sensitive skin that's prone to spots, so I'm always looking for something that will help. Could this be the answer?

Cold cream is for people with big skin irritations. My ex was always complaining about something or other, be it spots or Eczema or just me biting too hard (Ha!) But she swore by the stuff, Sudocrem in particular. That'll sort you out!

It's part of teh 'Ponds' range. fantastic stuff! is a cleanser really but very good for the skin (my nan used it before she got married, 55th anniversary this may, nuf said if it's been going that long!).

Most chemists sell it for about £3.95 (at least ours does!).

Swear by the ponds range though and clinique clarifying liquid (the purple one, others are too strong)
You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

I use cold cream as a make-up remover as I have very dry skin and wipes sometimes make my skin go red. Ponds Cold Cream has been used for years among theatrical types as a make-up remover - you just smooth some over your face and use tissues or cotton wool to wipe it off - it's messy but it doesn't make sensitive-skin flare up and it works just as well. More hygenic as well as you're not using one tissue all over your face and wiping eye-make-up all over the place (or is that just me who does that?? lol)

Ooh Nivea is the brand that stands out for me as I always remember my nan having it. Ooh I wonder if they still make it...

Sudocrem is the best for eczema, so soothing but it's massively messy. I would have said it's more of a barrier cream (it's great from protecting your skin going red when dyeing your hair)

Whenever anyone mentions cold cream I tend to think of Ponds.

Oh Captain Badger I'm sure you'll be a regular poster on the fashion and make-up threads...anyone who anticipates being left face down in front of Debenhams surely has opinions on a whole range to weird and wonderful things Plus MoB forums are addictive, you'll find yourself posting whole realms of opinions and goobledegook here in no time because you can't resist the lure

Default best thing for dry spotty skin

heya , i have the same skin type , what i do is use a cream cleanser rub it all over my face , then remove it with a warm damp flannel , then i apply that Norwegian formula face lotion . Hope this helps .

also the cream cleanser i use is body shop aloe vera , its good for dry skin that gets irritated easily .
