Thread: Madame le Strange - finest bespoke corsetry

Y'know, it occurs to me that I haven't formally introduced myself or my work - I've just dived straight in and got chatting with people! Hopefully this post will redress the balance!

Madame le Strange bespoke corsets (and burlesque costumes) are made using the finest materials available. I will not use inferior materials, nor skimp on any part of the process. To do so would result in a poorly fitting and un-aesthetically pleasing garment. This would be bad news for the client and potentially disastrous for my reputation!

Whilst I have many wonderful antique patterns, I also create beautiful bespoke models and designs. I can offer numerous varying styles, designed to clients' specifications.

Quality does not come cheap (especially compared to outsourced labour overseas); all of my clients receive garments which are handmade from the finest materials, and that fit perfectly. With proper care, my corsets will last decades, not merely years. Not only that but my work is backed up by over 30 years’ experience and training.

During the past 30+ years, I have mastered Medieval, Elizabethan, Victorian and Edwardian clothing styles and techniques, have worked as an historical costumier and theatrical wardrobe mistress, plus have had my work featured in Marie-Claire, Vogue, Metro and on the BBC, as well as in a couple of films.

Through my historical costuming, I have come to love corsetry and the form it gives to the figure. Consequently, for the past decade, I have concentrated my efforts into bringing finest bespoke corsets to clients from all walks of life. I can sometimes be persuaded to make wedding attire, if I feel the project is within my remit, and I am an official sponsor of the Vivid Soda Burlesque Review, designing and making bespoke costumes for performers and pin-ups.

I am one of only a handful of professional bespoke corsetières in the UK. I do not carry stock or prêt a porter wear, or provide wholesale garments; all of my work is fully bespoke and made to order. Please note that I do not work with animal skins.

Your work is just breathtaking! Those wedding dresses are gorgeous! I know who I will be getting in touch with for my (hypothetical) wedding dress!

Your work is amazing!!Ive made 2 corsets in my life(maaaaany years ago) but can't say I have the patience or talent to make them as beautifully as yours.

Wow, your stuff is amazing - great timing too, I was thinking just the other day that I could really use a good underbust corset!
