    Default Burlesque Virgin

Good afternoon all you beautiful ladies (& gents),

I have my first ever burlesque night in a few weeks and am after a bit of newbie advice on what to wear. I LOVE corsets and have just bought a black pin stripped over bust one that I fancied for the night (I like pin strip for some reason) but I'm a bit unsure what to wear on my bottom half.

I did take a liking to this but now I'm so confused as there are many brilliant and different looks.

    HELP!? :worried:

corset, pencil skirt, seamed stockings, highest heels you can manage and red lipstick is ALWAYS a winner in my opinion

    Welcome to the forums! xx

wear whatever you feel beautiful in, burlesque shouldnt have a uniform, dont have to be retro/vintage be creative and glam. Personally I love wearing corsets with victorian style bloomers and big boots, but hey thats just me.

    Hi Susy

If you like pin strip might I suggest going with a black pencil skirt, stockings and heels, maybe with a victorian or officey style blouse underneath the corset for a complete sexy-office worker look? :eyebrows:

I'm sure you'll look fabulous whatever you decide - hope to see you there! :excited:

As Sweet Scarlet said, wear what you feel beautiful in. I recently wore wide leg tailored trousers with a feather boa trimmed corset and felt fabulous. I was wearing gorgeous knickers underneath which helped!!

The pencil skirt is a good one but you could also go with tailored shorts or a different style of skirt. If you're feeling daring, frilly knickers never did any harm!

Whatever you go with, I hope you feel fabulous & have lots of fun!

A plain pencil skirt always look fabulous... and you'll feel naked at a burlesque night without some stockings! (I know I would, anyway.) As long as you feel comfortable with it you'll look great. Don't forget to tell us all about it afterwards, eh?

like the others have already said a classic black pencil skirt with seamed stockings, killer heels and red lipstick will look great! but just wear what you feel comfortable and sexy in! personally i love the look of pencil skirts but, i would never wear one because my lower legs are by far my worst feature and it would highlight them too much  i like peridot's idea of wearing it with wide trousers too!
