it took me ages to get it to how i felt comfy wearing vintage makeup as i never really wore makeup before. i would sugest experimenting. get some pics of the makeup u want and sit in and just have a play. thats what i did. also if u cant get the colours right go 2 a make up counter with a picture of the look u want thats pretty helpful i found.

Forget tutorials honey, just look at pictures that you like and copy and practise and copy, youll get the hang of it,there are also tutorials on youtube and livejournal.com/vintagemakeup, and there is also a great deal of help over at the fedora lounge |!! xoxo

I've now spent HOURS trawling the web and watching tutorials! I think the only thing for it now is to get practising..... thanx for all the suggestions, they're really handy!

One thing came across my mind: if you're using eyeliner and you're not very confident in doing make-up, forget those ones with a loooong brush and pick one that has more "felt tip pen" -like brush. It saves you from lots of :wallbash:...

I'm off down the shops to find me an eyeliner pen with a "felt tip". Have only had limited success with pencil and dip pot eyeliners so far..... this will hopefully work a bit better and leave me going :twothumbs:

Youtube certainly has lots of great tutorials on vintage-look makeup...pictures help a lot too!
I absolutely agree on using a liner w/ felt tip...it's much easier to apply the little wings at the end when using a felt tip.
But once you get the hang of it, using a very fine tip brush and MAC's fluid line works beautifully too.
I picked up an eyeliner application tip from a MUA who did my makeup recently...she put two little dots at the edges of the eyes where she wanted the 'wings' to stop...I thought that was helpful to make them even on both sides

I really really really dont like the felt tip eyeliner pens.. :worried:
I've brought two so far and the black just doesnt seem black enough.. especially if I draw a line of liquid liner next to it.
Im quite good at liquid liner I just thought these would make it even easier but they're really not for me.
