    Default 'Men, Women and Clothes'

Sorry if there's a thread about this, I couldn't see one.

I saw this last night on BBC4... BBC - Archive - What We Wore - Homepage
Maybe a bit of an odd programme and quite funny to see a fashion programme from the 50s compared to today's, but I quite liked it. Plenty of corsets and frills..oh, and the 'New Look', which I love
It's also on the iplayer site.

Have to agree with you, I love the music, the fashion and the whole scene.
This will make you smile. At my wedding reception I had danced a Rock & Roll number in my wedding dress, later that evening, after getting changed, we got all dressed up fifties style, and danced a waltz to this. I just love Kay Starr.

I'm so glad someone has posted about this! I have thoroughly enjoyed every episode and would recommend it to everyone, whether you love fashion history, or, like me, you are a huge fan of television history.....a particularly interesting point was the note that the smallest waist they have in the whole collection is 21inches!

I thought they were all fab and the kind of thing that costumes museums would never let you put on and film these days.

beautifully done and simply told as well I wish they would put a dvd collection of them all together for my costume archive as I never managed to record any of them
