    Default Urgently needed hair cut

    Hi gals and guys,

I have had the same hair 'look' for ages (I can't describe it as a hair style because it isn't very styled at all!).

It's long and dull and I'm bored of it. Also, I have a job that involves looking very smart and I don't think my hair looks smart at all.

So, with all that in mind, I'm considering having a drastic chop to something shorter and blonder, a la Kate Mullins from the Puppini Sisters.

Take a look at her and let me know what you think.

    Thanks for your time!

Ooh! I like it But (and it may just be me being lazy here), it looks like it would take a fair bit of time to style - and also to perfect. Also, (see other threads about going blonde), bleach can leave hair in bad condition and needing a lot of tlc... add styling to that and it may leave your hair quite brittle. Why don't you discuss it with your hairdresser? Or perhaps have it cut in one session, get used to styling it, and see if you still want to go blonde? You could always try some semi permanent shades or even wash in wash out dyes to see if you like any colours which would be kinder on your hair? x x x

I think as long as you know the hairdresser is a good one you should be fine going blonde. My friend has hers blonde all winter and brunette all summer, and it always looks classy and lovely and stays in good condition because she pays out for a really good hairdresser.

No, you're not being lazy, I'm sure it does take her ages to style it (or her stylists). When her hair is down and unstyled it is basically just a bob which goes to just below her chin which is what I liked. I wouldn't style it that often to be honest. My mum's hair is very bleached and over styled and it is in bad condition. My Hairdresser (a friend of mine's wife who works for Toni & Guy) suggested a warm brown coloured bob, but I like being a blonde.

    decisions decisions!

    Thanks for your opinions gals

    Kate Mullin's hair is fab!!!!
You should go for it cos like you say you CAN style it like that when you want but just have a normal bob for work.
I'd love to have my hair that blonde again I had it like that & v short but now it's longer I'm only brave enough for highlights
    Go for it girl!!!

Think very carefully before cutting off your long locks, think of all the different styles you could achieve with it! I regret cutting mine and am now growing out a graduated bob! It's a real pain in the ass!
    Good luck....

Well, this is true, maybe I should try to work with what I have. I often think I should make more of my long hair rather than just having it down and drab all the time.

I think a bit shorter, blonder and a blunt fringe (I've always had fringes to cover my ample forehead region!).....It could all go very Lady gaga

Couldn't agree more. I cut all my lovely long hair into a bob when I was 11, instantly hated it, and spent the next ten years growing it back to its former glory. When I think about how long it could be now if I hadn't cut it ...

I must have really fast growing hair!

First photo is July 04. (It is as long as that bottom flick on my right shoulder. Actually, that was my hair straightened so it was a lot shorter than that naturally).

Second is May 08. (I tried curling it into nice curls and it went horribly wrong so ignore the poodle look!)
