Theatrical Make Up Classes in Glasgow
[also posted in Scottish scene]
Hi everyone
For anyone interested in learning skills in theatrical make up, Central College (Cathedral ST, Glasgow) are offering a new Saturday class. This may be perfect for performers wishing to do more with their stage face under the auspices of trained artists in a well equipped college.
It starts Sat 25th April and runs for 6 weeks 9.30am - 12.30pm. The cost is £60 which is amazing value - that works out at £10 per week.
The class is taught by my friend Emma C who is an HND qualified make up artist who has worked her magic on me a few times, as well as working in the lesser known mediums of film, tv and stage...
(Anyone who was at the Dr Sketchy bash last August may remember her body paint work on Mia Meow for her brilliant "Roswell" act!)
Details are on the College website (Central College - Changing Lives... Shaping Futures!) or PM me if you want to know anything specific about what is covered (and I'll find out for you)

Well Miss Usherette,
If this is where you learned to do your make up then I am DEFINITELY signing up for this!!
Will check the dates with Mr Chou Chou and see if I can sign up. Do you know how many places there are? In other words, do I have to get my skates on?

As Suzuki says, 12 places. I doubt they've all gone so far, as they've only just announced the course (and as you noticed, the college marketing people who do the website haven't yet got it up, so to speak!)
I mentioned to Emma that I was spreading the word on here and she asked me to point out that one week's class will be devoted to 1940/50s make up! If the first run of classes goes well, it should run again next year, possibly in the evenings too.
The college admissions number is 0141 552 3941 if anyone is interested in getting in touch.
When Emma was still on her HND course at Clydebank College I did a photoshoot with her for one of a series of ads for the College, which all featured unlikely looking people in occupations. I got to be a punky doctor ... kept the make up on while we went for a quick Chinese buffet lunch at the cinema complex. Lots of fun!
