Do- Rags!
I love wearing do-rags, and i think they suit me pretty well. But my dilemma is this: When i'm all dolled up for a night out, a do-rag doesnt seem to look special enough, even if its something sparkly and pretty. And if i'm just in normal casual clothes, even a plain rag looks too "done-up". I cant wear them for work really, because i work in a lab, and am not supposed to wear headgear...
i know it should be a case of,"what hair accessories do i wear with these clothes", but in this case, its "what clothes do i wear with my do-rag!?"
Anyone got any ideas of what looks good, or examples of outfits which would suit that kind of hairstyle?
Thanks

they are great for keeping my dreads out of my face... I find that if you wear plain ones for every day wear u dont look over done and you can customise them to go with a nice outfit by embroidering them and adding sequins etc...

Aww, i like spotty ones, Candy Jayne!
As for where to buy them... they can be made of anything you can tie round your head! Some of mine are bandanas, some are cut-up scarves. Now i just need to find one that's pretty enough to go with the Stop Staring dress i'm saving up for!

On special occasions I use chiffon or lace scraps as a do-rag and just keep my printed scarves etc for daytime wear!

Thats a good idea. I think chiffon would look really pretty without being OTT.
I have used a long beaded scarf before, tied as a hairband, and then around my neck as a scarf. (will see if i can find a pic...)
Candy Jayne, when i had dreads, i used to wear headscarves all the time. Its the kind of statement hairstyle that begs for accessories! Plus, i used to find that wearing a really pretty headscarf made everything look a lot neater for when i had to look smart for more formal events.

Hi! I love to wear mine with cropped jeans and loafers with a cute patterned blouse for almost like a land-girl look, glammed up with costume jewellery!!! I've found great ones with apples and cherries printed on them from carboot and jumble sales, also charity shops! Love it!!!
