    Default Subtle pasties

For my competition we're required to wear pasties & a g-string if we're going to be "bare" (i.e. no nudity). I'm doing a reverse strip and while I don't think I'll explicitly bare my boobs (I'd start with a dressing gown) I'd still like to cover them just in case.

I don't want pasties that would distract from the performance (which is slow, sensual, intimate, soft) - so no crazy tassles or beads or whatever. However, I don't want to be boring and gaffer tape my nipples either!

What could I wear as pasties that are tasteful but not dull? I was thinking something like a lace doily but smaller...pretty but not overpowering. I don't have tons of crafty skills (still a n00b in that department) so something simple with instructions work.

    Thanks

What about nude petals? You could always put a few rhinestone on if they are too plain.

When I have seen reverse strips done they usually begin with a very small nude g-string or merkin, and nude coloued pasties with a few small crystals on to catch the light. If you can find a fabric to match your sintone closely it looks very nice.

I've been making my own pasties recently without any reinforcement, and they look very subtle when they're on. I have a pair which are made form nude coloured lycra and match my skin tone nicely. I've put a few very pale rhinestones on them, for a bit of sparkle, but on stage they're very subtle and quite convincing nudity-wise. And their lack of pointiness certainly helps!

Ooh, thats an interesting idea! How well do they stand up to the tape going on and off all the time?

I don't use tape on them. I found this 'fashion glue' stuff in a shop a while back and it holds them on beautifully. Because the pasties aren't at all heavy, you don't need much glue at all, plus it leaves no residue on the pastie itself and seems to be much more gentle on the skin than tape. But I wouldn't recommend the stuff for reinforced pasties

I bejewelled flesh coloured bra's for my Boston acts. It all come down to what works with the vision you have in your head of how you want the act to be.

what comp are you doing lovely?
i cant remember if you said you'd be back in brisbane for the fringe one (sorry i have goldfish memory!!)...
ive been working on my costume today and ive come up with the same problem--i want nude-looking pasties cos i have little boobs and they get swallowed by the standard reinforced ones--glad you posted this question, im going to go and try and find nude coloured lycra on thurday when i get paid again!
im thinking the only place that would sell it will be ballet shops--im familiar with spotlights range and they certainly dont stock any--do you know any other good fabric stores in brissy??

That is the very one I have the opposite issue from you; my boobs are big! I'm thinking an actual coaster would be the only thing that'd cover them up...

Lena (who's organising the shindig) has little boobs too, and has more pasties than she knows what to do with sometimes, so try asking her, or Miss Bertie who makes them. I wish I knew more bigger-breasted burlesque people!!

I know of Lincraft, and I've heard of people that go to op-shops for fabric. I might go for something black or white, to match the costume and because skin-coloured ones don't go for dark skin usually ;P
