Ooh ooh come to see me at my pub!
I've got a little pub in Hull on one of the main roads called The Ringside (next burlesque night's Saturday February 16th).
We're 2 minutes walk from one of Hull's biggest nightclubs 'Welly' who are linked to NME magazine.
Also club wise in Hull we've got :
Pozition- trendy place for those with more money than sense (15 minutes walk from us)
Spiders-Mosher club (unfortunately usually full of 16 year olds but dirt cheap)
Piper- (20 minutes walk from us) Studenty place, good on a weekend for indie stuff and fairly cheap.
Sugar Mill- fairly new, covers mostly chart, dance & R&B
Fuel (10 minutes from us)- fantastic club, caters mainly for the gay community but flair and dressing up is always appreciated. Email before turning up as they're rather selective on entry.
Pub rundown-
Beverley Road (where I am)- weekends it's fairly lively with a mix of chavs, students and locals. Selection of about 7/8 large pubs that are 10 minutes walk down from me. Good drinks offers usually. Most pubs play chart music down that end of the road.
Old Town- centre of Hull, features a strange mix of about 20 pubs ranging from a Weatherspoons to a Revolution and a load of quaint 'local' pubs that sell ace beers. Also included haunted pubs. Sharkeys is ace as they've got a fantastic cocktail menu and do great spirit offers. There's also a lovely Irish bar that's usually got live music or comedy on.
New Town- similar area to above. About 10 rather chavvy pubs that have got plenty of offers on but are unfortunately filled with whining people underdressed and overintoxicated. Includes a branch of Yates, Yello and Retro. Includes 2 6am opening pubs (beware!)
Come to Hull on a Friday, we've got an ace rock night going till 2am and I can point you in the direction of a few cheap places to stay. We're 10 minutes walk from the train/bus station.

Thanks anna. I think we will have to pay you a visit soon. The burley night sounds good. Will it be a dress up thing? I have been to spiders but there are too many chavs and people I don't like. Will get in touch with my friends for 16th. xx
Crimblefairy- Im into rock but nothing too heavy and sweaty! I always end up getting punched when I go to those type of pubs. Im after going to a burley night. Kinda a girly night. Where you from? xx

Lovely! Let me know if you're coming down and I shall reserve you tickets and try to get you some guest passes for Fuel as an afterthought, the more dressed up you are in there the better!

I'm a Leeds gal - the burlesquey things on here are:
1. Linus Twizzles' Sleazy Spaekeasy at Verve - 1st Sat of the month
2. Slippery Belle burlesque is on the 8th Feb at Subculture (and is monthly too, I think)
3. The Ruby Revue also used to be monthly, but I'm not sure of their plans this month.
My music taste is kinda the same as yours, I go to the Cockpit on a Friday night for the session (dirt cheap and unpretentious, 3 different rooms so ther's something for everyone) or Wire for Strangeways (slightly more obscure indie, often has guest Djs like the Cribs or Long Blondes) and on Sat I go to Wendy House at Leeds Uni (a monthly goth club, great for dressing up), Brighton Beach at Leeds Uni (60s/mod/northern soul and indie, monthly), the Faversham (on every week, some people think it's a bit scenester-y, but I like it).
PM me if you need more info.
