Burlesque performing in south west
Hi
I have set up business in the world of burlesque in the last year or so, I have managed some amature performances, teaching a few classes and recently produced glastonbury's first burlesque cabaret!
I absolutely love what I am doing but would really like to build my performance profile.
If you have any advice or help as to go about getting to perform at some of the more prestigious venues please let me know.
Many thanks

Another lady from sunny Somerset!Yey.
Well I would suggest putting your name forward for events in places like Bristol where a wide audience will see you perform. To climb up the burlesque chain so to speak you need to meet lots of people in the right places and gain a good reputation with promoters and other performers. There are certainly plenty of nights going in our area which is great.
I have got most of my bookings from people seeing me perform and asking for my details. Also getting videos and lots of pictures of your acts is brilliant because then people can see how good you are and know they aren't taking a risk if they haven't seen you perform. So doing lots of shows and getting your name out in the area really helps.
Much Love xxx
