Default Any amazing events on the 11th June?

So I finally have the chance to teach my friend what burlesque is all about, but is limited to the 11th June, I was just wondering if anyone knows of any good nights out? Or if any events are being held.
Would prefer the east / midlands / london area also - reasonably cheap.

If all else fails I might just go to the Greene Room in Milton Keynes, if anyone has been here I would love to know what it's like

    Thanks in advance!!

I liked it. A proper burlesque snob would hate it. Their thursdays are not 'burlesque nights' in the sense that we might be familiar with, but more like an evening with dancing girls and a few burlesque acts. (I can elaborate, but I will be mistaken for ripping the evening apart, when I'm actually being constructive. I've made that error here before.) Basically if you overlook the teeth-grittingly cheesy aspects and don't take some things too seriously, you and your friend could have a bit of a laugh.

Drinks at club prices but the cocktails are decent, well-appointed surroundings, attentive staff; being all seated (and therefore not crowded) made it a pleasant place to be. Although it says 'Burlesque and Period Attire is very Welcome!' We were the only people that bothered that night so my husband felt a bit of a plum, but I don't give a hoot after a margarita or two and shall break out the corsetry next time for a laugh. But thought I'd warn you if you or your friend are likely to be concerned about standing out.

    Impressive use of technology, too.

For us it's a shame it's a thursday, as we would only be able to make it ocasionally and I hope there is sufficient business on thursday nights to keep booking the standard of acts they do.

Plan to do one of their Saturday nights at one point as I'd like to think they'll do cabaret quite well... So, if you find your amazing event next weekend, then great; but do try and check Greene Room out too, they're at least having a go...

Shame you're not near Wales - we have our Bluestocking Lounge night with Fifi Fatale, Lily Belle, Delilah Galore, The Bay Belles and more! X
