I no this is not strictly burlesque but I thought you would all be interested. I am still finding out dates and where you can buy tickets, so will update later. Its going to be a fantastic show.

Beauty and the Beast

What do you get when a born freak and a former beauty queen make a fairy tale?

An evening length Live Art/Theatre piece, a collaboration between Mat Fraser, British multi disciplinary performing Disability Artist, actor and writer, and Julie Atlas Muz, American performance artist, Miss Exotic World 2006 and Miss Coney Island 2006.
Muz plays Beauty, an innocent girl budding into womanhood and Fraser plays Beast, using his deformity to demonize the desires of humankind and the hope for deliverance from animal-like treatment.

Beauty and the Beast is a fantastical classic fairy tale that has evoked emotional attachment inspiring Phantom of the Opera, Elephant Man, Mask and King Kong where the protagonists are thought of and treated like animals until love shines through.

Using the structure of Beauty and Beast as a framework and the 1946 Jean Cocteau film La Belle et le Bete as an aesthetic base, Fraser and Muz weave shared situationist scenes to create an hour long performance piece that includes song, dance, giant balloons, bathing, martial arts, an absurd series of dinners for two and of course opening narration by the famed singing vagina, Mr. Pussy, his first performance in the U.K.

Warning, due to much of the content being of adult nature and themes, this powerfully sexual and frighteningly physical show is for over 16's only ( TBC, it may have to go to 18's). Contains partial and full nudity, and scenes of a sexual nature.
