Thread: halloween music help needed

Hi, I have my first performance Wednesday night doing burlesque inside a huge pumkin prop but I cant find any music suitable. Was going to do it to 'I put a spell on you' but someone else is singing it on the same night in another part of the venue so wouldnt work performing it together. Its kind of a witchy classic striptease. I'd love to do it to Rob Zombies Living Dead Girl but dont think it'll go well at a cocktail nigh! Any uggstions much appreciated.

Well its going to be Rob Zombie i think but I still havent seen the prop so have only been able to reherse in my room and am so nervous cos its all gone wrong at teh last minute. I had teh act fine then the person organising it who new full well what song I was doing it to asked something else if they could learn to sing it so I thought we were doing it together but no. Ive had no time to practice and so annoyed as I dont feel like I have any control over my own act. Even my friend that was meant to be in it with me so it had some sort of a plot and more humour is now not in it and I have a feeling thats down to the powers that be, we are all from the same course. Now its just me badly stripping in a pumpkin. Wish I was just fan dancing instead now.

Oh honey that sounds like a lot of stress that you do not need or want, good luck and just go for it and enjoy yourself.

I remember practising routines in my head as I didn't have a space to practise my rope.

Make sure you enjoy the performance then half the work is done.

Well I feel very screwed over. I was so excited about tonight. Im meant to be part of this skills sharing production 'company'. Ive just met up with everyone and found out I have no music beacuase I left a message with one friend to ask my best friend to download the song for me cos I cant do it on my computer they went to ask him and the woman in charge who basically gets us to all be performing monkeys for her said dont tell him to do it as he has enough things to do (all the tons of jobs she wants done) None of my nine 'friends' in the group bothered to tell me until now when im meant to be at the venue. so ive had to go to hmv and buy the whole album and am now not going early to help set up because Im taking no more 'do this do that' orders like a skivvy.

Im going to go later with my housemates perform and then go and not do teh strike at 11pm. the only reason I'm still performing is because I was so looking forward to it and have told so many people im finally going to perform after years of feeling to shy and ugly not to. I know really that its just a little matter of music but I feel like Im just part of this to make the night look a success. These friends wouldnt even let me use their phone to contact the girl a live with to help me out at the last minute. Shes a darling she came all the way to give me my trainers so I could get out of heels and run to HMV.

This all sounds kind of funny now I've written it but its one of those things where if you know the person it comes down to it always becomes a disorganised mess and Im upset its mucked my act up in the process.

I'm off for an icecream binge before I go and turn up stylishly late (not that anyone can tell me what time im on anyway)
