Now that Dita Von Teese is practically a household name, this Valentine’s night Exeter’s retro loving cats and kittens can indulge themselves with a night of old school glamour, by booking a table at Havana on the Quay and being entertained by Devon’s only dedicated burlesque funsters ‘Kinky & Quirky’

Having already successfully hosted their monthly nights in Torquay and Exeter organisers ‘Kinky & Quirky’ are very excited about launching the night at Havana, the Latino bar & restaurant on the Quay.

Speaking from the leopardskin boardroom of Kinky and Quirky HQ, the enigmatic duo said “Our nights are an opportunity to dress up with no boundaries on creativity or expression, to be yourself whilst enjoying a real melting pot of non-stop entertainment but anyone who comes along thinking that it’s all about stripping will be dissappointed! At Havana, think Moulin Rouge meets 1950’s Cuba and an evening which is enjoyed by a mixed audience; men, women, straight, gay and everything in between and beyond.”

The line up for the Valentine’s night on Saturday 14th February certainly seems to reflect this; in addition to their regular performers, the Naughty Toes and Muffin Tops troupe, Kinky & Quirky will also be introducing Kitty Kane, a gal whose blend of tongue in cheek comedy tease and classic fan-dancing makes her big hit on the burlesque circuit. Live music for the evening is provided by the very aptly named Sandy Sparkle, a Torbay based chanteuse with a repetoire of jazz and swing classics and with DJ Breeze playing blues, punk and ska mixed in with some mambo, rock ‘n’ roll, retro sleaze and dancefloor cheese, the joint is sure to be jumping and jiving.

And if all that isn’t enough, there will also be burlesque and retro vendors offering handmade and unique items, slide shows and film clips, drinks specials and of course the option to enjoy the food from either Havana’s full dinner or snack menu for those of you that want to eat.

The event is strictly over 18’s only and tickets can be bought in advance for £5.00 from the venue or by emailing quirky@kinkyandquirky.com or can be purchased on the night for £6.00. The doors open at 8.00pm with the proceedings starting after 8.30pm and as the night offers an eclectic and glamorous addition to Exeter’s usual nightlife booking is advisable.
