Thread: Copenhagen Denmark - Grotesque Burlesque

Having just celebrated our first Burlesque of 2012 last weekend, it feels only right to be adding to the forum with the news of Copenhagen Burlesque.

We've been up and running since 2009 starting as an intimate gathering in various venues in Copenhagen and leading up to the fabulous night out known as "Copenhagen Burlesque" held at the New Theater (a beautiful old building (detnyteater . dk) in Copenhagen's city center. Over 300 people attend the event wherein guests are performers and performers become part of the crowd, of course there are on-stage events from people all over the world, hailing from Sweden, Germany, Canada, Venezuela and many other tantalizing locations.

A short intro to Copenhagen Burlesque:
...A magnificent playground of the outlandish and bizarre. We believe in and welcome: participation, dressing up, playful ridiculousness, artistic creativity, pleasure & decadence.

With Copenhagen Grotesque Burlesque we aim to throw you a party that will rock your world, inspire your inner performer, expand your horizon and make you scream from joy! Grotesque Burlesque is a challenge to conventional parties where a passive audience being entertained. Instead, it’s a space catering for creative play, performance and experimental spontaneity. So with the invitation to this party, we don’t just ask you to come and watch, but to take part of the spectacle – obviously by being dressed up, but hopefully even more!

Welcome to the new wonderland of burlesque. A marvellous imaginary realm of great but strange beauty and unleashed wonder.
