Hello MadameEli,
welcome to the Burlesque realm. I am new as well, but I did some research and bought a book by Jo Weldon, which seems very good at least to start to know more about this Art.
I have also found some classes in London, which Im thinking of joining.
Good luck.

I know this thread started a while ago but I am fairly new on here so can anyone suggest any MoB approved teachers/classes/private lessons/workshops in the Warwickshire & the Midlands area? I would especially like to learn fan dance techniques and also more techniques for routines with a chair (I have a chair and have used it in one routine but need more ideas)
Any suggestions gratefully received!

I think we need to start a new thread on this, its so long! If you scroll through, Kittie has recommended a few people around the UK, there could be one midlands based. Be very sure to vet the person teaching, they should have a good few years of active performing experience, some years of experience in burlesque, both to a high level, and ideally some kind of performance training/teaching experience, as well as being fully insured, if you are looking for training for the stage.

Actually I have just looked through the thread for you (attempting to avoid lesson planning) and there is no one recommended for Birmingham on the thread. You could pm Kittie to see if she knows anyone, the last post about Brum was a while ago. Why dont you pop along to Dr Sketchys in Birmingham City Centre, or to Candy Cabaret in Rugby (run by LeKeux events). They arent classes but could be a good way of getting to know people, finding out what is going on? xxxx Good Luck hun
