Default BVB: Bra Embellishment for Burlesque -Derby, Sat 31st Jul 2.30-4.30pm

Tickets: £20, available via State of The Art Promotions Limited Delicious Burlesque Workshop Places - BOOKING RECOMMENDED.

    ***

Have you ever wanted to learn new techniques for customising your own burlesque costumes? Whilst this workshop focuses on bras, participants will learn valuable techniques (such as how to attach non-elastic trims to elasticated costumes) that can be applied to many other costume elements besides.

As well as bringing examples of my previous costuming work (available for participants to handle and look at up-close). I demonstrate how to add ruffles, sequins, appliques, how to change bra straps for a halterneck fastening and I provide tips on using rhinestones. Participants then have an hour with me to begin work on their own customisation, with the opportunity to ask questions about tricky or difficult techniques.

I will be bringing a big box of appliqués, trims and other haberdashery items which participants will have free access to. Even if you're a performer thoroughly familiar with customising you own costume pieces, the workshop is worth attending simply for access to this box of treasure!

PARTICIPANTS TAKE AWAY: Any embellishments participants have used or started to stitch and a flyer.

PARTICIPANTS MUST BRING: A plain bra to customise - any colour under the sun, just not too frilly, lacey or multi-coloured. With or without wires, modern or vintage, it doesn't matter!

I'm bumping this thread to inform anyone interested in coming to these workshops that advance booking is thoroughly recommended.

In short, if the numbers for the workshops aren't there in advance, the class may not run.

I understand that the burlesque ettiquette tends to favour buying tickets on the door, but this is one of those rare instances when advance booking is of more importance.

I hope to see some of you there. And if you have any questions about the workshop, please do post them here.
