learning burlesque
Has anyone ever tried to learn burlesque took a class and founf it just doesnt suit them?? I took my first class on Wednesday I have wanted to learn for ages and never had the nerve but it just wasnt what i was expecting.
The class was run by a girl i would say is qualified she has degrees in dance and drama but i cant help feeling its a bit cheap and nasty there were about ten girl in total and they were all young girls about 18/19/20 that just seemed to be a bit skanky and want to strip and were kind of sleezy.
the girl just basically went over a dance routine and made us follow
maybe its me and the fact that i have never been to a burlesque class maybe thats how it is
they all just seemed to want to talk about the movie burlesqueWARNINGWarning: This is an Old Thread

Sounds like you should try a different class hun. There are a lot of recommendations on the "Learn with the best" thread on here.

Learning Burlesque
Yeah i agree, maybe you just need to go to some other class where they DO really learn you the 'art of tease' because just talking about the movie isn't going to teach you a lot.
I wish there were burlesque classes in Belgium too

I agree, find another class if you can. Sometimes a person can be a fantastic dancer, but can not teach. Sometimes a student requires a teacher with a different teaching style.
I have also noticed that many younger girls just move diffently than more mature women. Maybe its just my perception though - as you age your eyes play tricks on you!
