Thread: ...who?

Hiii, just new to this website thought it would be quite useful for tips etc and meeting people with experience
This could probably sound really dumb and uncreative, but i would looove to be a burlesque performer and theres one thing that is doing my head in.. i dont know what my "name" would be :S

been on some of the websites with name generators, but they just dont seem personal enough, i would like to include 'Lady' in it, but things i come up with seem silly or kinda corny.. haha

a couple of friends suggested using hobbies etc but i do taekwondo.. so i couldnt come up with anything that was really.. feminine enough for my liking.

any help/suggestions would be appreciated on finding a naaame thankss

well my full name is Caitlin Hepburn, and i thought about doing something with the Hepburn part, im a bit of a girly girl, i love barbie ! (thought about Dolly something but dint think that was really original..) haha only colours of lipstick i wear are my MAC russian red or my Barbie pink one aha :P. hard to say with my hair because it is dyed - Gingery auburny just now, but i used to have black and i loved it so might change it back :/ love being out in the garden, favourite flowers are lilies(cala or stargazer), daffodils cos they are sunnyy favourite flavours .. chocolate flavour. aha emm strawberry cherry candyfloss aha.

i dont know what it is that i am finding so difficult lol. i like lady something but i dont waan be stuck with lady as a 1st, if you know what i mean.

favourite animal is a tiger, favourite brand is vivienne westwood,i love 40s/50s style, clothing etc - im in love with classic cars

Maybe have a think about what style of performance you want to do to inform your name. A Dita-esque en-pointe princess probably wouldn't have much use for a name like 'Bubbles Trump' but maybe a buxom burlesque clown might. Likewise a shy, ingenue type persona would only suit a name like 'Roxy Flame' if the joke were that her name is ill suited. A sexy, gothy performer could get away with a name like 'Seductra' but a performer who stripteases whilst juggling, maybe not so much. If you have a think about the style in which you want to work (or at least where you want to start, as most of us end up evolving as time goes on) it will be useful, not just for researching your name but also in general.

yeah totally, id like to do really elegant stuff like dita etc, but i dont think id suit it, not exactly the most dainty and graceful of girls.. but i would like to do a sort of, playful stripteasemost likely incorporated with a bit of humour if you get me.. aha :P

I actually made a name wall when to try to come up with mine. I wrote down a tonne of words I liked or that had a special meaning to me all on different post-it-notes and stuck them over my bedroom wall. When I was in bed or at my computer I'd sit and look at them, I'd piece them together untill one clicked that I really liked . Maybe you could try that? x
