Newbie in Brighton
Hi to all,
Please forgive me if this has been covered before...
As a total newbie living close to Brighton, would anyone be able to recommend lessons or workshops? The aim is just to have fun & to totally amaze my boyfriend
Any ideas would be most welcome.

Hi and welcome to the site! :-)
The MoB do great workshops which I think they run the brigthon area. click on the link at the top of this page to take you the information about the workshops!
failing that order the 'beginners burlesque' dvd from the site. you can then practice in the privacy of your own home!

Hi there!
We run a troupe called Boutique in Brighton and we've just begun our monthly residency at the Concorde 2. It's a bit of wait but we'll be starting a burlesque summer school in June which is pretty much going to cover everything you could want! If you'd like some more info then drop me a line at wjones@boutiquetheatre.co.uk and I'll make sure we keep you posted with updates.
Best wishes,
Lucky xx

Hi, hope you've already found some classes but if not, a group of us are starting a burlesque work group in a couple of weeks time. a group of women getting together once a week and getting creative inspiration from each other. we woking be working on dance routines, costume making, etc, and also hiring in some dance teachers/burlesque artists to lead some sessions. Too much to explain here, but if your interested contact me here with your email and i'll give you a buzz.
hope to hear from you

I recently did a workshop in Brighton hosted by Cherri Shakewell, she was fantastic! A great teacher. It went for 3 hours and included a complementary pair of tassles. I had so much fun and the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. I highly recommend. Check it out: Cherri Shakewell or MySpace.com - Cherri Shakewell - 99 - Female - Brighton, UK - www.myspace.com/cherrishakewell

Welcome! Perhaps I can be of assistance...
Welcome to the seaside! It's rather lovely down here...
There's plenty going on, do get involved, many of our great venues are closing their doors and us theatrical types need to rally together to prevent this.
Brighton Fringe Festival is throughout May, lots of street theatre, new and innovative entertainment and of course, more than a hat box of burlesque too.
I'm very proud to say that Dr Sketchy's Anti Art Class will be opening the floodgates of the Sea Life Centre & Aquarium for a watery extravaganza on May 22nd!
I am looking to showcase the many talented people involved in this scene at my events and hopefully help create a community of like minded folk through sharing ideas, swapping skills, creating theatrical events, work on arts projects etc I teach seminars and class too, if you're still looking for a class, contact me by all means, missfountain@gmail.com
I found this grouping a really positive experience in America, I have the cava and cake, space and organisation if you have the inclination for titillation

I'm a Brighton girl myself, welcome to our lovely coast - may I recommend a trip to the old penny What The Butler Saw amusement arcade? It's right on the seafront and a hoot.
There's lots of treasures abound in this city
Feel free to mail me if you need any advice
