Starting beginners classes, help!
Hi Everyone!
Very new to the world of Burlesque and starting a beginners class on Monday night. Just wondered if anyone had any tips on what to wear, what to take etc? This has probably already been posted but there is sooooo much on this forum to keep up with! haha! so excited to get started and try something new. I'm already an avid fan of burlesque and thought i'd give it a try myself.WARNINGWarning: This is an Old Thread

Just comfy clothes, a pair of heels you can move around on easily enough. Some people dress up a bit, a nice dress or something, but thats optional. Just wear something you can move in and feel comfy/good in. xxxx

First classes I was a bit shy so started wearing just my normal clothes (top and leggings). Some girls bring flat shoes/trainers for warm up. I actually found the warm up in a corset a bit... restrictive lol Then as our confidence grew we dressed up, heels are fairly essential for walking in. Also made me feel more 'burlesque'.
Your instructor may already have the basics such as a boa, small feather fan and gloves. They are fairly cheap to buy, have fun!

just to add
a corset/ basque, tights/ stockings and frilly knickers are popular for classes, but some just go in a t shirt and shorts.

What a fab time I had at my beginners burlesque class! Went in comfy clothes and took my heels with me (just in case!) All the girls were great fun and the instructor was lovely. A few giggles at the beginning but everyone got into it and were pulling cheese-cake faces left, right and centre! Also some great confidence building tips and some work with gloves/feather boas. Walked out feeling like a sexy and confident woman!
