I pretty much second everything Twiggy said (especially the bit about me knowing a lot - I don't get that very often :P )
If your costumes are so fabulous, I'd recommend getting them professionally photographed - with you in them, obviously, then promoters can see exactly what they're getting.
However, please don't rely on a beautiful costume to carry an act - I've seen amazing costumes on lacklustre performers who depend on the outfit to carry them through a routine. You wear the costume, the costume shouldn't wear you. Make sure your performance is of the same standard as your costuming, otherwise it will still fall flat.
Get yourself a basic website, or at least a facebook page so you have somewhere to direct promoters to and do some networking.
If travel isn't a problem - attending the NWBS (North West Burlesque Society) is a great way of meeting people, showcasing an act and getting advice from performers at all levels of performance.
Lastly - I coach one-to-one on promotion and promotional material and I'd be happy to meet you and discuss this, either here 'oop North, or when I visit London in September.
