I have been teaching basic burlesque moves for those not looking to go 'pro'. The various classes teach the basics-mostly etiquette, how to move/walk/stand, what to do with your arms so you're not flailing about, how to just flip ones hair(seriously), etc. I've had a couple students go professional, but in general these are the perfect classes for a girl's night out or bachelorette party. Simple, fun, and afterwards everyone leaves feeling comfortable with their bodies if they didn't already; knowing some new moves for in the bedroom ; and with a little extra confidence. I enjoy ladies that already are comfy with themselves, but the best is when someone comes in and they aren't sure of what to do but end up leaving with a swagger in their hips and some sass in their step!
I even teach a Contemporary Tease class where the ladies learn a fully choreographed(but very simple) burlesque striptease routine meant to be performed for their partner. What makes it more appealing to modern audiences is the music choice- modern tunes like Chris Isaac or Nelly Furtado. I've found it's easier to teach non-dancers steps when they match to lyrics, rather than trying to count 8's

So if any of you Florida gals have a friend that keeps bugging you about "OMG I WANNA DANCE SOOO BAD!!!!" but you know they'll never actually get on stage, send them my way
