Thread: Burlesque Name.

Hey, I'm completely new to MOB, although not new to the world of burlesque.
I've dabbled in being a burlesque performer before but never taken it further then doing it for a bit of fun once in a blue moon. I'm now thinking I want to take it further and with that I need a stage name!

I'm sorry, I know you regulars must be sick of the endless 'help! I need a stage name!' threads but I'm really stuck and was wondering if anyone could help me come up with a few ideas.

Now I have a few ideas of what I want to incorporate. I'm really interested in Greek mythology, I find it fascinating. Sooo, a few of my favourite Greek Goddesses are; Athena - now i'm completely against war so ignore that, but I believe I am incredibly wise for my age. Aphrodite - obviously her love, Goddess of love and beauty?! who wouldn't find some kind of common ground with this! haha. Eos - she is the Goddess of dawn who brings hope of a new day, which I think is just beautiful!

Now I would also like to use my mother's maiden name as part of my stage name, the name is Dirmauskas (pronounced damascus), I think it's really sexy! Now I'm open to it being shortened or spelt slightly differently, I once changed it to Diarmascas, so I'm happy for it to be shortened or switched around. I also wouldn't mind my real name Callie being used as part of it or in some way or messed around with.

So hopefully that will give you guys some possible ideas. I appreciate any ideas given!

By personal I meant using the rough ideas i'd given in the opening post, like incorporating my mother's maiden name, not just a completely random name from someone elses list!

I love your Mother's maiden name. Maybe change it to the way it's pronounce, i.e. use it as Damascas then see if you can combine your name with a name from Greek mythology and have that as your second name xx

hi hun i agree with VodkaVonDroxx that Athena Damascas is great but i emphasis with your dilemma as i myself needed a stage name not the long ago as you can see lol well as you obviously know callie is greek for beautiful so i looked up other words that ment the same in greek the two best were Callista or Calypso the others being carol or caroline lol so what about Callista Damascas ? xxx
