Thread: Name help?

Heya I'm new to this and ive been trying to think of a name, my name is jessica but i don't really want to include that in the name.

Maybe something including Dolly?
And second names, i can't think of any!
There are so many great names already taken
can anybody help me?

There are a LOT of threads there, so have a look through and see if that helps.

General tips that often appear:

Choose something that reflects your personality. Adjectives are a good place to start. Write a list of words to describe you and see if any of them work.

Think of things you like- sweets, flowers, colours, bands, anything and see if you can incorporate them.

Come up with something original. Some names are very common.

Once you have come up with something, try different variations of spelling to make it that bit more original and memorable.

Finally, once you have settled on a name, search google, Myspace and places like that to make sure the name doesn't pop up anywhere.

As someone who books acts, try and avoid using 'Miss' too - you would not believe how big that bit of the contact list is and it actually makes it hard to sort through!

It also applies on MySpazz etc - you look someone up, can't find them because you forgot the Miss...

Too true, especially for MySpace. And another thing that annoys me when looking for performers on MySpace is when said performer thinks "hey, I'll put cute little symbols before and after my name." :thumbsdown:

(olly Dimwit might look great on your MySpace page, but will bugger my chances and the chances of others to find you using just your name.

My apologise to anyone who actually uses the name Dolly Dimwit, I just used it because it sprang to mind, not because I was having a go at you if you exist.

i normally pull screen name out of songs i wrote but i always have an and in the middle or something so i might need a little help in the naming lol someone should name me lol or can u have an and in there if u can i like my screen name lol but i never seen one with an and mind u i never looked thru any list

you could try asking your friends and family what words they would use to describe you, you could get something good from that. like december has already said there are so many thing you can take inspiration from flowers, jewels, famous people, song titles etc. you will know when you have found the right name
but for know how about diamond dolly? or ditzy doll? good luck with the search!
