Thread: Learning in Sheffield

hello all, just wondering if any one knows of a good place to learn in sheffield and if anyone goes to certain ones. i lack huge amounts of confidence and it would really help if i knew someone before i visit a place. plus they will need to help me stay calm as i get very anxious on my own.

I go to a class in Sheffield every Wednesday, run by a lovely lady called Gothique/Helles Bells (hope I've spelt that right). Check out her web sight - The Velvet Burlesque

It takes me 1 1/4 hours to get to class, but it's worth it.

I've heard that class is good.

I would also advise of buying MoB's burlesque dvd.

many thanks both of you, already got the dvd on my to buy list and then i'll have a look at those classes. :twothumbs:

oo im not too far from there and need to get lessons some how, so give me your verdict when you go!

Also try to get to as many burlesque events as possible to see other performers etc.

Plus it's a great time to start getting involved in the scene now in Sheffield as we now have 3 nights.

Peek a boo which is every 3 months - the next one is in Nov

Hoochie Koochie - this is a new one and the 1st night is on sept 11 at crystal bar

and last but not least - Secrets of the Boudior this is also every 3 months and te next one is on sept 5th.

Also there is going to be a new night is Rotherham which starts in september not sure on the date.

But the scene is getting bigger and better her in Sheffield.xx

ooh! where is Secrets of the Boudior being held? and at what time, tried a google search but it only came up with the last date it was held. also do you have to be over a certain age? my other half is 22, i'm 25 :excited:

Secrets of the boudior is at the redhouse on solly street, it's near west street.
