Default Teachers and Pupils Wanted for classes in Cambridge

Provisional interest only at this stage: the go ahead depends on the venue and amount of interest.

We have Bump 'N Grindhouse, a burlesque noir night booked on Sat 13th December 2008, with possibly regular nights in 2009 if financially viable. It's at the function suite of Cambridge United - and is not on a match day on 13th Dec, so we can get the place in the afternoon.

We would provide sound, lights, DJ, staging and light refreshments; we would need some teachers to teach, and pupils to learn; who is interested?

Financial details TBC, but the plan is that teachers would take a fee from pupils and would perform for us in the evening as payment.

Please post on here if interested (don't PM, please!) so pupils can see which teachers are likely to be there (and vice versa).

Nobody in the East wants to learn? No Instructors want a FREE venue AND the chance to make some money?

    What a waste.

Look on the bright side, at least you didn't decide to take any old teacher who probably wasn't and then trash your reputation.

... and also I don't end up with 15 hour day due to getting in to venue at midday, running sound and lights for teachers / students, THEN running a burlesque night and packing down after 2am finish! What was I thinking of? :daft:

What reputation? We haven't started yet...

I'm pretty sure at least one person has shot their reputation before they even started.

Good luck with your club night. :twothumbs:

Well it seems that it is shelved for now; the problem is that, due to using a football club for our venue, there will be a football game going on in the afternoon!

We thought the days we had booked were not match days - it turns out that when the main team aren't playing, the youth team are. How inconsiderate!

So we may attempt some in the summer (outside football season) if we manage to go regular as planned in 2009...

... but in the meantime, if you can rally 5 friends to come to the burlesque night itself (Sat 18th Oct) then you will get in for free!

Oh i'm sure I can get 5 if not more for this. Feel free to pm me more details.

Also I don't suppose you know of any teachers or classes in the local area as I really want to start learning burlesque and in a way boost my confidence.

I'm disappointed to see this hasn't taken off, it sounded fantastic and I can think of a least a couple of people that would have be up for it. I will watch this space.........
