    Default Desperately seeking a hoop

the time of the month is creeping closer for me to step to the stage once more and what i really want is a pretty hula hoop which looks nicer than my £1 one and has a bit of weight to it

over the bank holiday there was a small music event on at the coast where i flyered for a local bar and ended up staying at the circus tent and hulaing and flyering at the same time, shame my heals sunk into the grass but it was alot of fun and boosted my confidence in my own capabilities

i was just wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction of what size, weight would be best for performing nothing too elaborate and where to get it from

I got my hoop from oddballs in camden, think you can order from them. i think Firetoys - Fire Spinning & Circus Skills - Fire Poi, Fire Staff, Devilstick, Diabolo, Juggling Equipment, Glow Poi, Forums and much more sell the same one though, they do quite a few, mines the biggest one and pretty heavy but it can be a hassle to transport and hurts like mad when it hits me in the face!

I have to warn you though- firetoys site is addictive you can come off there purchasing enough for a whole circus!

i then trot off to the plumbing aisle purchase some tubing lets see how this goes

i've ran some rope through it and tied it which is currently holding a circle-ish shape then i'm going to fall back on my old friend duck tape

you can get like for lack of a better word adapters but they didn't have the right size one for the tubing i bought
