Name dilemma!
I need to come up with a stage-name, but I'm stuck between two choices:
The first is Jezebel, which my friend came up with for me. I like it (and the meaning behind it is pretty significant too), but I know for a fact that there's another burlesque performer (more than one, in fact) called Jezebel somewhere, and I kinda want my name to be unique.
The second option is Haizea (hence the screenname). Now I love this name, and it's as unique as they come, but I'm not sure if it really 'suits' burlesque, if you get my meaning. Opinions please!
That, and I need a last name. I don't want it to sound too stage-name ish, like Candy Sparkles or anything (no offense to those with names like that, it's just not for me), just...romantic. Kinda like Gypsy Rose Lee, where it's clearly made-up, but not overly so. Of course, the last name depends on which first name I end up with (for example, if everyone agreed Jezebel was the better choice, I'd have a relatively short last name - Jezebel Fae, or something along those lines.)
I suppose my name depends on my on-stage persona and my act (still in-progress, but you gotta start somewhere)...but a few suggestions would be appreciated. That, and whether people prefer Jezebel or Haizea; I really can't decide myself.WARNINGWarning: This is an Old Thread

Well, I like Jezebel but I agree, it probably is quite popular. Might take you a while to come up with the perfect name - just keep trying.

PixieParasolIt's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice.

My name is just a series of names that were put together in jest, as they describe me... but different aspects of me. Ok, for a while a had bright red hair and it really brought out my bolshy side ( more so than usual!) so people called me scarlet as a nick name which eventually became scarlette. I too had difficulty deciding on a last name, but it was my husband who eventually cracked it when he said 'you are practically married to your duvet so why dont you take that as your last name'. And thats how Scarlette Du Vey was born - my stage name has never changed since (although, my stage name was initially used as my DJ name)!

also, if you want a name like that with connotations - why not delilah! it rolls off the tongue amazingly! although you would have to personalise it to yourself again.

I do like Haizea as it is rather unique if you feel its not burlesquey enough perhaps you could add something else to it or pre-fix it with something?

I was thinking Hi-zee-a. I may be over-complicating it.

Yes, it's pronounced Hi-Zee-Ah. Means 'wind' in...Basque, I believe? It holds some personal meaning, since I do love the breeze more than your average girl...plus, I just like the name
. It has that unique ring to it. But yes, my only worry is that it isn't particularly 'burlesque'...what do you think? Could you see it as a stage-name?
