I have to agree with the other girls. Use this time to learn other forms of dance - if you still have the interest in a few years, they will really pay off. From my experience i would recommend belly dancing and salsa.
Also, you may even find a performer willing to give you a few fan dancing lessons, that's innocent enough and absolutely lovely to watch. Tip: start saving now!!

I couldn't agree more, although I'd add swing dance to the "really helpful dance styles" list for burlesque.
Belly dance though is an absolute blast and not unconnected to Burlesque, "Little Egypt" especially had a huge influence on the development of certain styles of Burlesque in the late 19th Century. It's still a very popular style with Burlesquers today. :twothumbs:
Best of luck with whatever route you decide to go down though Cat - I'll look forward to seeing you on the stage in several years time! :excited:

Hi Cat, and welcome, so lovely to see youngsters on our forum.
What everyone has said about burlesque and age is very sensible, you should also remember that whatever you do, you should do it with Mum's approval.
Now then, how about we get you into Burlesque at fifteen?
There are many aspects from which you are not excluded. How about learning to do The CanCan? You want get fit, let me tell you, you will get fit. Look at this YouTube clip and see girls either side of your age doing The CanCan.
YouTube - FRENCH CANCAN
Or how about a sexy Jazz routine, again here's another YouTube clip with girls either side of your age doing The famous Chicago & All That Jazz routine.

I particularly like this troupe because the younger girls are not wearing stockings, ( back to the 18 thing)
So where do you start? Look up dance schools in your area, then find yourself a Saturday job in Lloyds Chemist to pay for it.
There you go, and not even that spoilsport Pixie could object to it.
Have fun!
