"Illusions of exposure"
Hi, i've been doing some Fan Dance research, and the term "illusion's of exposure" keeps coming up. Now i can guess as to what this means - making the audience believe they are seeing something that is not actually on display, but cant remember ever seeing this in an act. I've seen ones were the body is revealed and hidden, but everything you see, you definitly see!
Can anyone explain exactly what it is, how its done, and any video links?

Look up Sally Rand on youtube - her shows were performed nude (or possibly with a body stocking, depending on who you listen to) and there's a great video that shows how she danced without revealing anything ...

I think this is probably down to body-stockings... some people who saw Sally Rand live say was nude and some say she wasn't: from the same performances. If the hand is quicker than the eye it would be almost impossible to tell, and logic would dictate that a quick flash might be the real thing as it seems unintentional. And body-stockings can be convincing... see, here I am covered from head to toe and the illusion is fairly convincing, even though the colour is far darker than my actual skin!
(sorry for the dodgy photo btw!)
