Can you help me think of a song to create a 'lonely hearts' dance to?
Goodness knows if this is the right place to post this but we shall give it a shot anyway!
I'm in my Unis Burlesque troupe The DemonBelles, and have performed once before in our christmas show 'Jingle Belles' where I was part of a group act doing a dance to 'Let it Snow', we have another show coming up for Valentines called 'Lonely Hearts' for which I have been asked to audition as a solo performer.
Now heres the problem, trying to think between uni work, Im finding it hard to think of the song, all Ive come up with so far is 'Dream a little dream of me' but its rather slow especially after 'let it snow' and I find I can create dances easier with a bit more of an upbeat tempo...
so anyone have any ideas for a song I can use as part of the wider 'lonely hearts' theme for my solo act?
All help will be muchly appreciated

I've always wanted to see someone perform to The Flirtations - Nothing But A Heartache, and it would be great to do a troupe routine too. There are some versions of the song on iTunes by other bands but not The Flirtations version.....but the The Now Time Delegation version isn't bad. There are also some disco-y-er version worth a laugh

Other ideas:
The Poni-Tails - Born Too Late
Helen Shapiro - You Don't Know
Carole King - Might As Well Rain Until September
The Divine Comedy - Everybody Knows That I Love You (Except You)
The Zutons - Why Won't You Give Me Your Love
There's always All By Myself.....The Russian Doll Lass - like Shrek's onion, but with sequins...

Evil Doctor Neil!!! How dare you! You know the only decent version of I Touch Myself was by Blondie!

You could always do some lesbian unrequited love songs - She's My Best Friend's Girl - The Cars or Girl of My Best Friend - Elvis

You might as well go for Devo - Whip It then :duck:
Ooh yes, my mother was outraged by it....she never got to the end of the song. She doesn't like Meatloaf either because she never listened to the end of 'I Would Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)....she reckons he doesn't love her at all.The Russian Doll Lass - like Shrek's onion, but with sequins...

Hello ^_^,
I know what it's like trying to juggle uni work with extra curricular activites(im the president of the burly soc at my uni). As for songs, well here's a few suggestions (but im not sure what genre you're after):
-Addicted to love by Robert Palmer
-Forbidden Love by Madonna(confessions on a dancefloor)
-Sweet harmony by The beloved
-My boy lollypop by millie small
-Suck my kiss by r.h.c.p's
-love shack by the b52's
-You and me song by The wannadies
-I believe in a thing called love-The darkness
Hopefully this will help,
