Burlesque in Starffordshire?
Hi,
As you can tell I'm pretty new to the forum (yesterday).
I've never done any burlesque however I am a cabaret performer who performs an illusions show, I'd love to take some of the art of Burlesque such as the fan and feathers and use them in my show, does anyone know of classes or workshops in Stafford/Wolverhapton/Walsall area?
Also I do fire dance and would love to use fire fans.
Thanks in advance!
Amz

there must be something cos theres tons of burley nights around that area.
in fact - arent leyla rose and missy malone holding a nottingham workshop in mid feb?
thats not too far to travel - and would be well worth it - both ladies are really lovely and are amazing performers with years of experience and a cabaret/circusy background - surely ideal for you to learn from!saucy, sassy and very, very silly!

Scarlet Fever (the lady who became a burlesque performer after appearing on Channel 4's Faking It and was taught by Immodesty Blaize, Dita Von Teese and Catherine D'Lish) has got one of her beginner's burlesque courses on 7th Feb at the Leopard in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent - the details aren't up on her website yet but I know it's booking up fast - you can contact her via her website - Home
And if you want to see a fantastic night of burlesque, with a fantastic line-up (Diva Hollywood, Diva Hollywood, Frivolitease, Ivy Wilde, Cecelia Rouge, Cherryfox, Scarlet Fever and Em Brulee) Scarlet Fever presents Burlesque in the same venue, the Leopard in Burslem is on Feb 21st and you can get tickets from the same website.
I don't think there's any fire dance training around here, so you might have to look for classes/workshops further afield, possibly in London......I've got it in my head RedSarah is now qualified to do this....possibly.....or I might have dreamt that.
Rhymes with Purple in Glasgow also do intensive fire workshops, but I know they say they fill up very quickly and the next one is this weekend. But you could always PM Rufus via this website or the RwP websiteThe Russian Doll Lass - like Shrek's onion, but with sequins...
