The Sugar Fix burlesque social is the perfect place to start! It's dead friendly and informal and where you'll find new performers trying things out or performers testing out new acts on a friendly and supportive all-female audience. It's held at TV21 in the Northern Quarter on a Sunday, once a month. Not sure when the next one is but join the group on facebook and they'll keep you updated!!

Oooooh.....I like the sound of this event too. I've performed once but would like to do so again. Sadly all the opportunities that have come up so far are toooooo far to travel. I will join the facebook group myself I think.

My good lady and I would like to visit a burlesque show (she's interested in trying it out/lessons etc) and Manchester is convenient for us, however are men not allowed to attend at the Sugarfix Social at TV21? Is it only for women? Are men generally discouraged from burlesque? I want to be part of my lady's interests and 'no men allowed' is pretty dispiriting! Pix68

I've done a bit more reading on the site and I'd like to take back some of the bottom lip I had in my last post, sorry. I guess its only the Sugarfix Social that is for the ladies (although no doubt there may be others that are similarly menless). If there is a regular event in Manchester/Lancashire/Leeds/Yoorkshire areas I would be happy to receive a message about it.
