Thread: so im thinking about joining the world of burlesque

this is a big deal for me, iv been body dysmorphic for as long as i can remember and discovering burlesque was a big deal for me, here are girls, all shapes and sizes, up on stage being celebrated for who they are, there isnt that pressure to be perfect, because their imperfections and their differences make them perfect.

watching burlesque has helped me in so many ways and i am finally starting to find some peace with myself, and i cannot tell you how that feels.

so i am slowly working up the courage to perform myself, i have an idea for an act that i would like to use, i just need some advice, if this is an ok act, and some tips etc.

but mostly, just thank you to burlesque and all you wonderful girls for helping me.

my idea for my act is bob fossil from the mighty boosh, performing his dance to "i dont like cricket" followed by a striptease to hall and oates his other song he dances to. what do you think?

Yes! I think it would be hilarious. The one thing I would say is if anybody doesn't watch the Mighty Boosh it would go straight over their heads.

i would really love my debut to be at hot muffins, but not the april slot, i just dont have the time to perfect it and find a costume, gahhhhh thats going to be the hardest bit, costume.

Alas, the April slot's been given to the "Oh My!" girls anyway... and June has a lot of interest already... The next one after that will be August.

Well... I can't offer June out yet as I don't have a date for the show! I'm merely telling people who are interested that June is the next available slot...

I'll be emailing all newcomer's slot applicants when I have the date...
