What does name winnie_von_wilde scream to you???
So after my ickle health scare I am now going for my burlesque training and performance in a big way. I am a masterclass with bella besame coming up and I have my myspace and some piccies being taken later.
I got my name from my nan....haha...she is called Winnie and apparently in the 40sw and 50s was a bit of a goer which is why she has 9 kids! She was stunningly beautiful and her nickname from all our family is wild win! Anyway I couldnt think of a name but in the end I came up with Winnie (as its an old name) von (thats obviously) and wilde (with an e for more oomf). I have made my myspace with a western theme and feel as I think my burlesque performances will be quite strong and tongue in cheek but with a bit of sultryness and seriousness when I want it to come out.
However, I was wondering what images the name conjours up for others
A few friends said winnie aint a sexy name and more silly (which i like as that will be my comedy part) but yet the von wilde gives it a sexier kick.
So opnions please ladies and gents
I would really appreciate it as I want to do this properly
Thanks xxxWARNINGWarning: This is an Old Thread

I think its a great name.
1. I can't off the top of my head think of other Winnie's - so you haven't got the prob that a lot of the lasses have liking a name that is very common
2. It has personal meaning to you - that's very important, and when you think of it, you'll think of a woman with real spirit, fire and passion
3. With the 'von Wilde' it immediately made me think of a Lili Von Schtupp type western bar showgirl type singer....so the fact you've put that western theme on your myspace makes me think my initial response was close.
If you like it, own it, and don't listen to what people say it makes them think - make yourself what you want to be!
Ohhh and put your myspace url in your signature here so people can find you

Absolutely, make sure you enjoy the journey just as much as wishing to get to your destination. There will be loads of stuff you do to build/construct Winnie that lots of people will never actually take in or notice, but it will be important and fun to you which will give you more confidence and self-esteem.....go for it!

I thought along the same lines too, so it looks like you've got a good theme going! Except the 'winnie' makes it very British to me so whatever the British equivalent is!
To me it sounds like someone with a big, confident personality. Someone who can be funny and silly but sexy at the same time, without having to try hard!

It might just be me......having watching Young Frankenstein too many times......but I can't help thinking every time someone mentions Winnie von Wilde you should hear in the background some horses whinnying (is that how you spell it?)

Now I've got 'Stand and Deliver' stuck in my head.
(For the whinnying, if no one's as sad as me.)
