Or am I the only one completly in love with David Tennant as the doctor

I am waiting patiently for it to air here in the states, but yes I love Tennant as The Doctor, and am nervous about the upcoming regneration....

I agree
Oh I love David Tennant as The Doctor, but seeing as I'm in Australia we haven't had it here yet. I can't wait though

I saw it last night, but in deference to the different timezoned fans on here won't given away any spoilers untill everyone's had a chance to see it
(although I can't resist remarking that I thought the ending, though brilliant, shot down a potentially fantastic avenue for the Dr's character to explore, particularly with a regeneration in the offing . . . ah well
)!
I love David Tennant as the Dr as well and I'm really worried about the coming regeneration. However I recall feeling the same when Chris Ecclestone left so I'm willing to go a little on faith here!

I agree lilly, I loved the power hungry dr, such a shame that it only lasted 5 mins (saying power hungry aint a spoiler is it?) Could have given the new guy a great place to take over. I'm reserving judgement on Matt Smith, depending on how he plays it I think he could be really good. Although if we keep hiring dr's that are 10 years younger than the last the one after matt smith will be 4!

I think the power hungry part will probably play into the next episodes, perhaps not into Matt Smith's doctor but to me it was as if the pain of the previous season (losing Rose and Donna) was really starting to take its toll on how he made his decisions rather than just simply travelling on like usual.
Im intruiged to see what Matt Smith does with the character, although I am a little worried that an even younger doctor will mean a script for an even younger cast, I was hoping things might get a little meatier with Russell T Davies leaving.

I agree with scarlette, I hope Matt Davis plays it like a grumpy jaded old man, that would be awesome. He cant play it as his own age cause it just wont work, Dr Who has to have that childish joy and wonder tempered with the knowledge of all of time.
They dont need to aim it younger cause they have Sarah Jane for that (Whcih acutally guys is pretty good if you've never seen it)
When I was talking to my mate about this we wondered if it was about time the dr had a male sidekick, be nice to see some close interactions that aren't governed by an underlying sexual tension... Discuss?"legs are better, you can fake boobs, you cant fake legs" - Sherz the Giant

Have to admit I enjoyed it, but was hoping for an even more dark finish.
Really looking forward to Steven Moffat taking over, as I feel Russell T Davies has run his course (and the episodes by Moffat have been brilliant).
Would have liked to see Tennant stay on even if only for half a season with Moffat in charge - Dream Team as far as I'm concerned, but you can't get everything you want, so will give Mr Smith a go....Iolair Images - Come along and have a look..... You know you want to!

yup T davis should have stayed making gay tv (he did queer as folk for those that dont know) the only good ones he's done have been the two parters. the best episodes by far are moffats. FYI T Davis didn't write alot of that last episode (the boyfriend's a writer and knows all this gubbins) most of it was written by the other guy whose name escapes me. The & in the writing credit means they weren't even in the same room together!
