When I did bellydancing I was really struggling one lesson with the moves as my back was really hurting. The instructor placed her hand on my lower back and said she was sending 'positive energy' into my body. Oh my word! I cannot even explain how big a difference it made. Unbelieavable.
I put more stock in holistic therapies than traditonal treatments if I'm honest.
Lil' Talalluah, thanks for the input. Sounds promising. I'll look into local osteopaths and book myself an appointment.

Have to agree that seeing an osteopath is great although in between sessions im not seeing much difference in my back at the moment. The pain is very mild but it's caused by spondylolisthesis (i may make that my stage name just to see if anyone can say it out loud, the osteopath couldnt) bone in spine slipped forward. I think after many years of falling off horses/bending back til my toes touched my nose to show off as a teenager/cracking it spinning poi it's all mounted up and I've been told to lay off anything that arches my spine until my core is stronger (oh joy)

The thing that's frustrating me is not being able to exercise how I want. I keep thinking if it doesn't hurt can't I carry on like normal but know my backs wrong inside and my core is weak. Osteopaths, if you've not seen one, will be able to give you daily excersises tailored to your problem. I just wish they hadn't told me I can't even do ab crunches for the moment, I'm so worried about getting fatter. I wants me trapeze back.

Hi, I have a friend who has back problems, his back will suddenly 'go'and he's in agony. He swears by his chiropractor. I don't know what she does, but it works...
Hope you manage to find someone who can help you,
    Lily x
