I bought some from Asda 24 the other day - it's being saved for a special occasion! I'm trying to find places that don't sell it too much like the Costcutter in town - last time I asked for it I had to point it out to him on the shelf because the shop's owner didn't know what or where it was... so I have a feeling there's a safe stash there at least for a little while.
I really don't understand the point of them changing the recipe - I can get Morgan's Spiced for cheaper, and now pretty much the same taste. The only reason I spent the extra on Sailor Jerry's was because it tasted a little more unusual than other rums.
Very unhappy! I tried adding my own lime and vanilla but it was truly ick-tastic x

If they're so bloody confident that people prefer the new version why not put them both out for a few months and see which sells more. I think that they won't because they know the new brand will get trounced.
Perhaps they have changed the recipe to make it cheaper to produce. Either way, it doesn't taste good.

Is there a way to tell visually? Have they changed the label?
I only started drinking Sailor Jerry's in the past few months, and I'm quite afraid that I might have been only drinking the "new" stuff!
I don't want to be ostracised for being the only person in the world who prefers the new blend!Kitt

I heard the only thing different is they stopped putting a bit of vanilla flavoring into the recipe.
I'm gonna try and do a taste test with some new recipe and a drop of vanilla essence.
As my emergency reserve bottle is evaporating quickly!
Will post my results. lol

Adding vanilla doesn't work, it takes too long to get the right mix. That and you need to use real vanilla as the essence stuff adds a meth like taste.
I just say stop buying it, they'll bring the better recipe back soon enough, it's just like new coke all over again.

I'd imagine they'll revert to the proper recipe in due course,
similar happened here in Bristol recently when Blackthorn had the temerity to change the recipe of their cider, it seemed to make many Bristolians catatonic with rage.
But yes, the point is, they changed it back, sharpish.
